Why Nachiketa

The boy who questioned Death

In the Katha Upanishad, a boy named Nachiketa takes his angry father's words at face value and goes to the house of Yama, the god of death. He waits three days without food. Offered three wishes, he turns down wealth and long life and asks the one question that matters most: what happens to the Self?

He was young, curious and brave enough to keep asking. That is the spirit of this project. We start from the very basics and explore the tradition the way he did: by asking, listening and thinking it through.
